Общая безопасность 2022

14 июня 2021 года прошло первое публичное мероприятие в рамках международного проекта «Общая безопасность 2022» — онлайн-семинар с участием премьер-министра Швеции Стефана Лёвена. До этого, 10 июня, прошло заседание консультационной комиссии высокого уровня, в которой Россию представляет Ал.А. Громыко, директор Института Европы РАН.

Организатором проекта выступил Международный центр Улофа Пальме (Швеция) во главе с генеральным секретарём Анной Сандстрём. В течение следующих 10 месяцев состоится серия международных экспертных мероприятий с целью выработки доклада «Общая безопасность 2022», концептуальной основой которой является доклад 1982 года Комиссии Улофа Пальме.

The ground-breaking report presented by the Palme Commission in 1982, in which the concept of Common Security was established, was a document that showed how the then challenging security situation could be handled. The report showed that in the nuclear age nations cannot achieve security at each other’s expense. Only through cooperative efforts and policies interlocking national restraints will all the world’s citizens live without fear of war and destruction.

Now, when tensions between the nuclear powers and military spending are rising, the concept of Common Security needs to regain a central place in the debate. But the path to cooperation and peace needs to be updated for the twenty-first century, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. By identifying the new challenges facing humanity, a contemporary blueprint for survival can be established.  In April next year, 40 years after the Palme Commission presented its findings, the report of our common endeavours will be launched.
